The following sample outlines a set of policies and procedures to allow employees to fulfill their civic obligation to jury duty service by providing time off and compensation.

This policy states that active full-time and part-time benefits-eligible employees are eligible for jury duty pay in accordance with their regularly scheduled hours. Employees who are on leaves of absence are not eligible for jury duty pay. In addition, employees may be required to submit proof of the jury summons and or jury service to their immediate supervisor, and to ensure adequate coverage for the duration of the obligation, the employee shall keep their supervisor informed of the service requirements on a regular basis.
